Kitsilano Horizon
Project Overview:
Horizon House is a custom home built for a couple relocating from Calgary to Vancouver to create their long-term forever home.
The original property featured a 90+ year-old house. After careful evaluation, the decision was made to remove the existing structure and build a new home that better reflected the owners’ lifestyle, priorities, and long-term needs in Kitsilano.
The finished home includes a double-car garage, a fully developed basement, a self-contained two-bedroom one-bath suite, and a separate private theatre space.
This house was also recognized as a Georgie Awards Finalist for Best Custom Home $2,000,000–$3,000,000 and Best Single Family Kitchen Over $200,000
What Made This Project Unique:
The intention
What made this project unique was the level of intention behind it from the beginning. This was not just a new build. It was designed as a forever home, with every space planned around long-term comfort, flexibility, privacy, and daily living.
Thoughtful Layout
The layout was especially thoughtful, with the basement designed to include both a private theatre space and a self-contained suite, adding versatility and long-term functionality.
How We Made It Work:
The success of Horizon House came from early alignment between design, budget, and construction. The project involved removing the original home and building a modern custom residence from the ground up, with a clear focus on thoughtful planning, clean architectural lines, and durable materials.
The result is a well-executed custom home that balances style, function, and long-term livability.
