Big Win for Venture Pacific as Prime Minister Harper tours Economic Action Plan funded Sportsplex

LANGFORD, BC – February 22,2011 – City of Langford and Venture Pacific were pleased to welcome Prime Minister Stephen Harper to tour the construction site of the City of Langford’s  – City Centre Park Sportsplex, one of the many funding recipients of the Federal Government’s Economic Action Plan.  Venture Pacific is extremely pleased to have been chosen to be part of this very exciting project which will greatly benefit the residents of Langford. The City Centre Sportsplex will not only have an indoor NHL sized ice arena with a connecting skate path to the existing outdoor skating rink, but also houses a 20-lane, 10-pin bowling alley. The opening of the Sportslex is slated for late spring of this year. The government has, and continues to, recognize the value that recreational facilities bring to the communities in which they are built and has funded over 1,400 infrastructure projects across Canada, with more than 100 in BC.  The federal funding accounted for one third of the value of the $14.1 million budget for this development.  Further to the upside the community members will experience with this new facility is the creation of jobs both during construction and once the sportsplex is in operation.
